So... I guess America’s effectively going to war with Iran after decades of trying to avoid that very thing? Who knows.

Netanyahu, like everyone else, has Trump by the balls because the guy’s got more skeletons in his closet than an ossuary.

Three months ago, I said the USA would go to war at their earliest convenience, because it was the only way to manufacture an economy while the world slowly closes its doors on them. Now here we are.

Where We Stand

Today, the Comptroller of New York got arrested for being a good human. Millions turned out across America last weekend. Marines are in Los Angeles.

There’s soon to be a fire sale of US national parkland. People are being deported or disappearing, something that was done under regimes like Pinochet and the Khmer Rouge.

Plus, a massive fleet of tanks was relocated from Texas in recent weeks, which we anticipated being used in Trump’s feeble birthday party, but only a faction were used. So one wonders: Where are the tanks? Not looking forward to that answer.

A Little Foresight, Please?

Still, media and others fail to recognize, or comprehend, that “it can’t happen here” is, in fact, happening there.

The United States is a Nazi country and a genocide is under way, and when they get efficient at it, God help us all.

Next up? Their failure to feed the nation.

There will be no Mexicans in the fields. There will be no crops brought to fruition. Food will die on the vine, or fail to grow at all. That which is planted will be more expensive, because of tariffs on Canada's potash, which is critical for fertilizer.

To deal with empty fields, the authoritarians will turn to for-profit prisons so the incarcerated can provide labour on the cheap, ostenstibly bringing a bounty of food to the masses.

Except the Nazis will be wrong about that, because farming is hard.

Every land has a microclimate; every crop behaves differently. Some of these disappeared or hiding farm workers have toiled upon their plots for generations, through owner after owner. The authoritarian thugs fail to grasp the expansive knowledge they’re losing by chasing these people away.

But these thugs don’t care. They’re mediocre white men who’ve achieved ‘greatness’ through duplicity, scheming, lying, bribing, and dumb-ass luck. They've protected what's theirs, and fuck what's yours.

They scoff at diligence and mock intelligence. They think anyone who shuns shortcuts is a schmuck. It’s the same guise behind AI — only a fool would spend days reading a book when AI could quickly summarize it. They loathe creativity and innovation, and they see anyone capable of either as a threat. They detest those of us with brains and a refusal to be cowed or wowed by them.

So, if courts won’t let ‘em use prisoners to farm fields, they’ll take a page from Chairman Mao and start sending educators, scientists, and any other “intelligentsia” off to farms to humble them.

And people will starve. Because educators and their ilk are not farmers.

And farmers, it turns out, are skilled people who do an incredibly complicated, constantly changing job.

The Dumbest, Cruelest Timeline

How we got here is an ode to personal responsibility and civil obligation, but that's another tale for another time. The how doesn't matter anymore.

The darkest scenario is that this leads to starvation and chaos. Under Mao, the official figure is 30 million people starved to death with his failed agricultural policies. The unofficial number is 150 million.

If crops fail, if people go unfed, then Canada will be overrun by American refugees. Their social safety net has been dismantled, their economy is collapsing, shelves are emptying because tariffs, and the migrant farmers have begun disappearing. I'm no mathematician, but that adds up to a whole lotta not good.

Where are we? That’s where. On the cusp of the darkest scenarios we can conceive of because all of this is a choice.

America’s leadership is choosing to destroy their nation and Americans need to decide just how far they’re willing to go to change that course, and how soon.

The reality is, Democrats are not up to this challenge. The truth is: Both sides are right. America is broken.

America will never be what it was, and shouldn’t be. The Civil War never ended, it just got muted. White supremacy never went away; it just got respectable and learned some new vocabulary.

They’re thugs. They’re base thugs.

They’re too arrogant to see their stupidity, and they will fail, because failure is the only thing fascists do well.

I look forward to the day Trump dies at the hands of a mob, and can only hope it comes soon.

For now, we’re in limbo as we watch America fall — a crash all see coming, but which no one can avert... except the most armed populace in the world.

So what next?

[shrug] It’s up to the American people. The rest of us are powerless. But if you’re like me, you’ve got a good bag of rice and a whole lotta beans, ‘cos uncertain times are scarce times. Buckle up.

So, let’s acknowledge the non-blogging elephant in the room. I made a big, dumb mistake about 7 or so weeks ago when I got off the sleep aid I’d been taking to correct a decade-plus of disordered sleeping — residual effects of going nomad. Trouble is, the sleep aid is also classified as an anti-depressant.

Tell ya what ain’t good, kids, is getting off an anti-depressant while a genocide ramps up and fascism goes off the rails. Bleak-ass shit.

I stopped coping, stopped writing. It went to a bad place, very quickly, 'cause that’s what happens when stopping pharmaceuticals without a proper tail-off period.

Luckily, I’ve been to that dance before and realized what was happening. Today: Sorted. Soon: Writing.

But, for the meantime, one of the most tumultuous times during my lifetime failed to get blogged about. I got a lot right, though, and I'll get more right to come, I'm sure, because those of us who read history books can recognize it when it comes back 'round again. Dang Nazis, man.
