Despite stupidity rearing its head last night in the form of yet another asshole comment by yet another asshole, and the rise of a would-be stalker, for the time being I’m going to hold off on comment moderation despite my first instinct to start regulating them.
Why? Well, for starters, I really love the dialogue that takes place in comments sometimes. It’s exciting to see people argue each other about something I’ve read, or pat me on the back, whatever. I have a life and don’t want to have to have the stress of checking for comments and publishing them, because that messes with the flow of it all, and when posts only really have a shelf-life of a few days, that gets in the way of the flow, no?
Besides, I believe strongly in free speech. I’ll let you have your say, but don’t think I’m going to bend over and take it when I think you’re out of line, or just plain stupid and mean like the guy from last night. And I’m not going to be polite about it.
I must have been drunk when I said I was going to be a kinder, gentler Steff. Oh, right, I was drunk. That explains that. No, you know what I’m going to be? Myself. For all the good and bad of it, I’m going to be myself. With all my swear words, all my attitude, and all my humour, I’m gonna be myself and just say what comes to mind. That should be fun. So say what you want, but know I’m not shy about responding.
After all, while I think some mouths are better off left shut, mine is not one of them. Why? Because it’s MY blog. Duh. 😛
Here, eat some Sugasm. You’ll feel better. I’m behind the game by two weeks with Sugasm, so here’s a truncated list for #142, and the full juicy 143 will be up in the next few days.

i actually liked that reply of yours steff, i just wish he had had the balls to use a name instead of hiding behind anonymity. anybody with half a brain would know that there is so much more behind the blogger. oh well, some people simply have no clue. besides, there are plenty of people that obviously appreciate your writing style.
Comment killer dissertations. Ugh. Oh well, you handled him/her/it the right way. I am far more impressed with people who reveal their own flaws and attributes than point out what he or she perceives to be flaws in others.
Oh, and then using qualifying statements to “soften” the blow. Lamos.
Hope all is well, Steff.

A — Thanks.
I’ve decided I’d rather lose the readers I’ll piss off by saying what I think to, and keep the readers who enjoy reading my flippantly rageful but honest remarks. It’ll keep life simpler.
To thine own self be true, and fuck the rest of ’em. Or, as Seuss said, “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
So, I try to remember that these days.
Besides, I think that’s a wanker from a dating site that I rejected a few times. Ha.
DH — Thanks. I’m good. I need to reply to your email, and I will, soon! 🙂 Thank you — I’m going to whore that thing, you’ll see.
Anyhow, yes, I love these people who say cruel, dickish things, and APOLOGIZE while doing so, giving backhanded compliments throughout, and who are ownly doing it to make themselves feel important.
Duh?
And I believe very much that we have to recognize our flaws, own them, and either change them or accept them, but that we also have to speak to our strengths and our powers.
I mean, if you don’t know what’s awesome about you, how will anyone else? People call it arrogance, but it’s how you handle yourself that matters.
And I’m tired of men claiming I need more humility. It’s funny how it’s a few guys I’ve rejected, too, who seem to think I need humility, but hey. I’m humble in all the right places.
Just not on my blog. Why should I be? This is my queendom, and I’m here to rule. 🙂
Says right there on the sidebar — “welcome to the world my way.” I merely aim to deliver. 🙂
